Where Are Sunday's Parents?
Sunday’s Adventures celebrates the extraordinary relationship Denessa had with her City Grandparents and Country Grandparents, but that should never be mistaken to mean that her parents were absent from her childhood.
They were present. They were loved. And they mattered.
Denessa loved and cherished her parents just as deeply. The focus on grandparents is an intentional creative choice—not an indication of something missing from her home.
Sunday’s Adventures was created from a vision centered on grandparents, grandchildren, family traditions, culture, community, and the memories passed from one generation to the next. Denessa's parents have supported a project that celebrates and honors the very people who raised them—their parents.
At its heart, Sunday’s Adventures is not about leaving anyone out.
It is about remembering where we came from, honoring the people who helped shape us, and preserving those memories so they can live beyond us. That is the heart behind Sunday. And that is how Sunday’s Adventures came to life.
